Giving Back
Cynthia is a board member for Hope for Ariang. HOPE for Ariang is a nonprofit humanitarian organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities and health services for the Sudanese people adversely affected by the ongoing conflict in Sudan. The organization seeks to restore hope by empowering Sudanese through education, with a special emphasis on education for girls. Through her decorative painting work Cynthia gives back to the community of Ariang by providing funding for the school building project, food assistance and medical care for some residents.

Cynthia's hand designed Africa Charm necklace depicts the country of Sudan and a pin dot for the village of Ariang where Cynthia supports the school building project. All proceeds from the sale of this necklace goes
to Cynthia is also a volunteer for Fairfield County Habitat for Humanity and she and her husband Joel are contributors to the Lighthouse after school program in Bridgeport, CT. The Lighthouse program offers a safe place for inner city children during the after school hours.
